Aventura Off-Road en Baños | Jeep, ATV y Motos Ecuador

Experience an exciting off-road adventure in Baños de Agua Santa, one of Ecuador’s most famous destinations for outdoor activities and adventure sports. 

This tour explores the wild landscapes surrounding Baños using quad bikes (ATV) or manual dirt bikesThe route travels through mountain trailsmuddy roadsrivers, and rural areas that reveal a differentside of the region beyond the typical tourist routes. 

Before starting the adventureall participants complete a short driving practice and safety briefing. This allows riders to become familiar with the vehicle and ensures a safe and comfortable experience foreveryone in the group. 

Participants can choose between automatic ATVs, manual ATVsor manual 250cc dirt bikes depending on their experience level and riding preference. 

Two different off road routes are available depending on weather conditionsthe experience of the riders, and the guide’s recommendation. 

This adventure is designed for travelers looking for a real off road riding experience where rain, mudwater crossings, and natural terrain are part of the adventure. 

For safety reasons, participants must follow the guide’s instructions and commands at all times during the tour.

GENERAL TOUR INFORMATION 

Tour duration 4 to 5 hours minimum 

Approximate riding distance 25 to 40 km | 15.5 to 25 miles

PRE-RIDE EXPERIENCE 

Before starting the route the guide provides a short riding practice and safety orientation. 

During this introduction participants learn the basic control of the vehicle including acceleration, braking, turning techniques and communication signals used by the guide during the ride. 

Once everyone feels comfortable with the vehicle the group begins the off-road adventure. 

OFF-ROAD ROUTES 

Two adventure routes are available in the mountains surrounding Baños. 

ROUTE ONE 
BAÑOS – EL TRIUNFO - ULBA – BAÑOS 

Approximate distance 25 to 30 km | 15 to 18.6 miles 

Estimated duration approximately 4 hours 

This route explores the rural countryside and jungle surroundings located outside the city of Baños. 

The trail passes through agricultural areas, rural communities, and natural landscapes where riders experience dirt roadsmuddy sections and small river crossings depending on the season. 

The route offers beautiful views of the valley while allowing riders to enjoy a true off-road experience away from the main tourist areas. 

ROUTE TWO 
BAÑOS – ANTENNAS - LLIGUA – BAÑOS 

 

Approximate distance 30 to 40 km | 18.6 to 25 miles 

Estimated duration 4 to 5 hours 

This route climbs from the valley of Baños toward the mountain viewpoints located near the antennas above the village of Lligua. 

The trail includes mountain paths, off-road climbs and descents, and scenic viewpoints overlooking the valley and surrounding landscapes. 

From higher points along the route it is sometimes possible to observe Tungurahua Volcano when weather conditions are clear. 

This route offers more elevationwider views and a more adventurous riding experience. 

ADVENTURE CONDITIONS 

This experience takes place on real off-road terrain rather than city streets. 

Participants should be prepared for rain, mudriver crossingsslippery trails and changing mountain weather conditions. 

The climate in Baños can change quickly and these conditions are part of what makes the adventure unique.
